But why victimblame the ones that feel sad? I go to therapy and get bullied by a woman at work. I ignored her, and she kept going on. Everyone else is so nice to me, and she is the only one who's different towards me. She's nice to everyone else. I never done anything to her that I know of....

These organisations have old big bullies as leaders who doesn't learn or update their skill sets.. also they promote and keep people who are like them for a long term. My sincere advice would be join organizations where are young leaders and esp see how secured it is for women!

I had a supervisor who appeared to be intimidated by the fact that I dressed up versus wearing nursing scrubs. I was working in a local, public health, county office.

You can’t control how people treat you. You can vibrate higher and higher and they will only double down until you quit. You just have to quit.

Personally, I don't think there is other choice if you are a deer, the lion prey on you . But it is harmful to your help adding your working stress, put extra load on you and weaken your performance and health. It is unlawful !

I started a job and had to interact with people on my department who were mid level professionals who were bitter. One of them said to me, I should be getting 2% of your salary. When I told my manager what was said, I was practically gaslit as if it wasn’t a big deal. Miserable tenured workers make jobs insufferable

I know this is a 6 year old video, but it is still valuable information. With that said, I just turned 64 and have been a Warehouse/Facility manager for over 20 years (not to mention being in manufacturing, production and inventory control) and was recently down-sized due to a business losing customers to the competition in their market. We went from 200 plus employees to under 100 in less than 5 months. As I started back interviewing, I have great success in the "phone" interview portion, so much so, they can't wait to get me on-site for a sit down interview. As soon as they see me, I can tell by the interview questions that this is going no where fast. I had my resume reviewed and tweaked by a professional service. When I get called for an interview, I have heard this several times; "your resume is so impressive, you are our first candidate." With that said, my resume has no embellishing added, it's just me. I have been to over 25 of these type of interviews and no, it is not me or my experience, it is ageism.

I always am nervous in interviews no matter how much I prepare but I always felt going into interviews and saying straight out that I'm a shy person and so I'm a bit nervous because of that, that actually has helped me get through to that hiring person that I'm not a bad communicator. I just am very shy. But once I get into the main parts of the interview, I am very slow-talking and really try to enunciate and just stay focused on the job itself.

Not a good video because she is shifting the blame back onto the person being bullied. She also said by being more confident and not reacting, this will help. That's not true at all, because with jealous miserable people, they become jealous of your confidence and professional behavior. They become more aggressive when you stop engaging with them, because they were not able to provoke a response.

I do all the things you mention here but I have been passed over for a guy who does none of these things and is the least performer in the group. I have even been on all sorts of committees that benefit our department. The only one he has ever joined was the social committee. He shows up late. Leaves early. Does not further his knowledge base. His fellow employees don’t respect him. He does not know many aspects of his job. And yet he is now my boss because he is friends with someone in management. So don’t listen to your parents when they say you will be noticed if you work hard and go above and beyond. It is not true in today’s world.

The coworker I work with, whom I find insufferable, verbally told me that she is envious of me. Then she expects me not to keep her at arms length and be all buddy buddy? Girl, please, I don't know you like that. Yet, I get along with everyone else at work, but this one insufferable person.
